விருத்தசேதனமுள்ள அவர்களுக்குச் சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கிக்கும்படி பேதுருவுக்குக் கையளிக்கப்பட்டதுபோல, விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கிக்கும்படி அது எனக்கும் கையளிக்கப்பட்டதென்று அவர்கள் கண்டு;

விருத்தசேதனம் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கிப்பதற்காக பேதுருவிற்கு அதிகாரம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதுபோல, விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கிப்பதற்காக எனக்கும் அதிகாரம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதென்று அவர்கள் பார்த்து;

ஒரு அப்போஸ்தலனைப்போலப் பணியாற்றும்படி பேதுருவுக்கு தேவன் அதிகாரத்தைத் தந்தார். யூதர்களுக்குப் பேதுருவும் ஒரு அப்போஸ்தலனாகவே இருந்தான். நானும் ஒரு அப்போஸ்தலனைப்போல பணியாற்ற தேவன் எனக்கு அதிகாரம் கொடுத்திருந்தார். ஆனால் நானோ யூதர் அல்லாதவர்களுக்காக அப்போஸ்தலனாக இருக்கிறேன்.

ஆம், யூதர்களின் திருத்தூதராகச் செயல்படும் ஆற்றலைப் பேதுருவுக்குத் தந்தவரே பிற இனத்தாருக்குத் திருத்தூதராகச் செயல்படும் ஆற்றலை எனக்கும் தந்தார்.
