அன்றியும், சுதந்தரமானது நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே உண்டானால் அது வாக்குத்தத்தத்தினாலே உண்டாயிராது; தேவன் அதை ஆபிரகாமுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தத்தினாலே அருளிச்செய்தாரே.

அன்றியும், உரிமைப்பங்கானது நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே உண்டானால் அது வாக்குத்தத்தத்தினாலே உண்டாயிருக்காது; தேவன் அதை ஆபிரகாமுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தத்தினாலே அருளிச்செய்தாரே.

தேவனுடைய வாக்குறுதியை நாம் சட்டங்களைப் பின்பற்றி வருவதன் மூலம் அடைய முடியுமா? முடியாது. அப்படியானால் தேவன் கொடுத்தது வாக்குறுதி ஆகாது. ஆனால் தேவனோ தன் ஆசீர்வாதங்களைத் தன் வாக்குத்தத்ததின் மூலம் இலவசமாய் ஆபிரகாமுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

திருச்சட்டம் சார்ந்த செயல்களால் உரிமைப்பேறு கிடைப்பதாய் இருந்தால் அது வாக்குறுதியால் தரப்படுவது இல்லை என்றாகிறது. ஆனால், கடவுள் அதை ஆபிரகாமுக்கு வாக்குறுதியின் வழியாகவே அருளினார்.⒫
