ஆதியாகமம் 19:16
அவன் தாமதித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது கர்த்தர் அவன்மேல் வைத்த இரக்கத்தினாலே, அந்தப் புருஷர் அவன் கையையும், அவன் மனைவியின் கையையும், அவன் இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளின் கையையும் பிடித்து, அவனைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் விட்டார்கள்.

அவன் தாமதித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, கர்த்தர் அவன்மேல் வைத்த இரக்கத்தினாலே, அந்த மனிதர்கள் அவனுடைய கையையும், அவனுடைய மனைவியின் கையையும், அவனுடைய இரண்டு மகள்களின் கையையும் பிடித்து, அவர்களைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் விட்டார்கள்.

லோத்து குழப்பத்துடன் வேகமாகப் புறப்படாமல் இருந்தான், எனவே அந்த இரண்டு தேவதூதர்கள் அவன், அவனது மனைவி, மகள்கள் ஆகியோரின் கையைப் பிடித்து அவர்களைப் பாதுகாப்பாக நகரத்தை விட்டு வெளியே அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். லோத்தோடும் அவனது குடும்பத்தோடும் கர்த்தர் மிகவும் கருணை உடையவராக இருந்தார்.

அவர் காலந்தாழ்த்தினார். ஆண்டவர் அவர் மீது இரக்கம் வைத்திருந்ததால், அந்த மனிதர்கள் அவரது கையையும், அவர் மனைவியின் கையையும், அவர் இரு புதல்வியர் கையையும் பிடித்துக் கொண்டுபோய் நகருக்கு வெளியே விட்டார்கள்.
