அப்பொழுது தலையாரிகளின் அதிபதிக்கு வேலைக்காரனாகிய எபிரெய பிள்ளையாண்டான் ஒருவன் அங்கே எங்களோடே இருந்தான்; அவனிடத்தில் அவைகளைச் சொன்னோம், அவன் நாங்கள் கண்ட சொப்பனங்களுக்குரிய வெவ்வேறு அர்த்தத்தின்படியே எங்கள் சொப்பனத்தின் பயனைச் சொன்னான்.

அப்பொழுது மற்றவன்: இது யோவாசின் குமாரனாகிய கிதியோன் என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலனுடைய பட்டயமே அல்லாமல் வேறல்ல; தேவன் மீதியானியரையும், இந்தச் சேனை அனைத்தையும் அவன் கையிலே ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார் என்றான்.

அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: அந்த மூன்று கூடைகளும் மூன்று நாளாம்.

அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பு பார்வோனை நோக்கி: பார்வோனின் சொப்பனம் ஒன்றுதான்; தேவன் தாம் செய்யப்போகிறது இன்னதென்று பார்வோனுக்கு அறிவித்திருக்கிறார்.

சொப்பனம் இதுதான்; அதின் அர்த்தத்தையும் ராஜசமுகத்தில் தெரிவிப்போம்.

அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பெயருள்ள தானியேல் ஒரு நாழிகைமட்டும் திகைத்துச் சிந்தித்துக் கலங்கினான். ராஜா அவனை நோக்கி: பெல்தெஷாத்சாரே, சொப்பனமும் அதின் அர்த்தமும் உன்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணவேண்டியதில்லை என்றான்; அப்பொழுது பெல்தெஷாத்சார் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் ஆண்டவர் அந்தச் சொப்பனம் உம்முடைய பகைவரிடத்திலும். அதின் அர்த்தம் உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களிடத்திலும் பலிக்கக்கடவது.

அவர்கள் போஜனம் பண்ணுகையில், இயேசு அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, ஆசீர்வதித்து, அதைப் பிட்டு, சீஷர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் வாங்கிப் புசியுங்கள், இது என்னுடைய சரீரமாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்.
