அதற்கு அவர்கள்: அந்த மனிதன், உங்கள் தகப்பன் இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறாரா? உங்களுக்கு இன்னும் ஒரு சகோதரன் உண்டா? என்று எங்களையும் எங்கள் வம்சத்தையும் குறித்து விபரமாய் விசாரித்தான்; அந்தக் கேள்விகளுக்குத் தக்கதாக உள்ளபடி அவனுக்குச் சொன்னோம்; உங்கள் சகோதரனை உங்களோடேகூட இங்கே கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்று அவன் சொல்லுவான் என்பதை நாங்கள் அறிந்திருந்தோமா என்றார்கள்.

அதற்கு சகோதரர்கள், “அந்த மனிதன் ஏராளமான கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டான். அவன் எங்களைப்பற்றியும் நமது குடும்பத்தைப்பற்றியும் கேட்டான். அவன் எங்களிடம், ‘உங்கள் தந்தை உயிரோடு இருக்கிறாரா? இன்னொரு தம்பி வீட்டில் இருக்கிறானா?’ என்று கேட்டான். நாங்கள் பதிலை மட்டும் சொன்னோம். அவன் இளைய சகோதரனையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வரச்சொல்லுவான் என்பதை நாங்கள் அறியோம்” என்றார்கள்.

அவர்கள், “அந்த ஆள் நம்மைப்பற்றியும் நம் உறவினரைப்பற்றியும் துருவித் துருவிக் கேட்டார். ‘உங்கள் தந்தை இன்னும் உயிரோடு இருக்கிறாரா? உங்களுக்கு வேறு சகோதரன் உண்டா?’ என்று வினவினார். அவர் கேட்ட கேள்விகளுக்கு இவ்வாறு பதிலளித்தோம். ‘உங்கள் சகோதரனை இங்கே கொண்டு வாருங்கள்’ என்று அவர் சொல்வார் என்று நாங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கக் கூடுமோ?” என்று மறுமொழி கூறினர்.
