ஆசாரியருடைய நிலத்தை மாத்திரம் அவன் கொள்ளவில்லை; அது பார்வோனாலே ஆசாரியருக்கு மானியமாகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததினாலும், பார்வோன் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த மானியத்தினாலே அவர்கள் ஜீவனம்பண்ணிவந்ததினாலும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் நிலத்தை விற்கவில்லை.

ஆசாரியர்களுடைய நிலத்தை மாத்திரம் அவன் வாங்கவில்லை; அது பார்வோனாலே ஆசாரியர்களுக்கு மானியமாகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாலும், பார்வோன் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த மானியத்தினாலே அவர்கள் வாழ்க்கை நடத்திவந்ததாலும், அவர்கள் தங்கள் நிலத்தை விற்கவில்லை.

ஆசாரியர்களுக்கு உரிய நிலத்தை மட்டுமே யோசேப்பு வாங்கவில்லை. அவர்களின் உணவுக்கு ஆசாரியர்கள் தங்கள் நிலத்தை விற்கவேண்டிய தேவை ஏற்படவில்லை. ஏனெனில் மன்னன் தேவையானவற்றைச் சம்பளமாகக் கொடுத்து வந்தான். அதையே உணவு வாங்க வைத்துக்கொண்டனர்.

அர்ச்சகர்களின் வயல்களை மட்டும் அவர் வாங்கவில்லை. ஏனென்றால், பார்வோன் அவற்றை அவர்களுக்கு மானியமாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தான். பார்வோன் அவர்களுக்குத் தந்திருந்த மானியத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் உண்டு வந்ததால், அவர்கள் தங்கள் நிலபுலன்களை விற்கவில்லை.

Only the land of the priests bought he not; for the priests had a portion assigned them of Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them: wherefore they sold not their lands.
