அன்றைத்தினமே நோவாவும், நோவாவின் குமாரராகிய சேமும் காமும் யாப்பேத்தும், அவர்களுடனேகூட நோவாவின் மனைவியும், அவன் குமாரரின் மூன்று மனைவிகளும், பேழைக்குள் பிரவேசித்தார்கள்.

கர்த்தர் நோவாவை நோக்கி: நீயும் உன் வீட்டார் அனைவரும் பேழைக்குள் பிரவேசியுங்கள்; இந்தச் சந்ததியில் உன்னை எனக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாகக் கண்டேன்.

ஜலப்பிரளயத்துக்குத் தப்பும்படி நோவாவும் அவனுடனேகூட அவன் குமாரரும், அவன் மனைவியும் அவன் குமாரரின் மனைவிகளும் பேழைக்குள் பிரவேசித்தார்கள்.

சகல ஜனங்களும் யோர்தானைக்கடந்து தீருமளவும், கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியைச் சுமக்கிற ஆசாரியர்கள் யோர்தானின் நடுவிலே தண்ணீரில்லாத தரையில் காலுூன்றி நிற்கும்போது, இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரும் தண்ணீரற்ற உலர்ந்த தரைவழியாய்க் கடந்து போனார்கள்.

மோசே யோசுவாவுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்த எல்லாவற்றின்படியும் ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லும்படி, கர்த்தர் யோசுவாவுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டவையெல்லாம் செய்து முடியுமட்டும், பெட்டியைச்சுமக்கிற ஆசாரியர் யோர்தானின் நடுவே நின்றார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் தீவிரித்துக் கடந்துபோனார்கள்.

சாட்சியின் பெட்டியைச் சுமக்கிற ஆசாரியர் யோர்தானிலிருந்து கரையேறும்படி அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடு என்று சொன்னார்.

உன் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் உன்னைக்காக்கும்படி உனக்காகத் தம்முடைய தூதர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவார்.

கர்த்தர் உன் போக்கையும் உன் வரத்தையும் இதுமுதற்கொண்டு என்றைக்குங் காப்பார்.

இப்போதும் நீ அறிந்து உணர்ந்துகொள்ளவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: எருசலேமைத் திரும்ப எடுப்பித்துக்கட்டுகிறதற்கான கட்டளை வெளிப்படுவதுமுதல், பிரபுவாகிய மேசியா வருமட்டும் ஏழு வாரமும், அறுபத்திரண்டு வாரமும் செல்லும்; அவைகளில் வீதிகளும் அலங்கங்களும் மறுபடியும் கட்டப்படும்; ஆனாலும் இடுக்கமான காலங்களில் இப்படியாகும்.

உனக்கு நான் செய்வதென்னவென்றால், தண்ணீரில்லாத குழியிலே அடைபட்டߠΰுக்கிற உன்னுடையவர்களை நான் உன் உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தத்Ġοனாலே விடுதலைபண்ணுவேன்.

சிறைச்சாலைக்காரன் நித்திரைதெளிந்து, சிறைச்சாலையின் கதவுகள் திறந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, கட்டுண்டவர்கள் ஓடிப்போனார்களென்று எண்ணி, பட்டயத்தை உருவித் தன்னைக் கொலைசெய்து கொள்ளப்போனான்.

அதற்குப் பவுல் ரோமராகிய எங்களை அவர்கள் நியாயம் விசாரியாமல், வெளியரங்கமாய் அடித்து, சிறைச்சாலையிலே போட்டார்கள்; இப்பொழுது இரகசியமாய் எங்களை விடுதலையாக்குகிறார்களோ? அப்படியல்ல, அவர்களே வந்து, எங்களை வெளியே அழைத்து அனுப்பிவிடட்டும் என்றான்.
