அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தர் லிவியாதான் என்னும் நீண்ட பாம்பை, லிவியாதான் என்னும் கோணலான சர்ப்பத்தையே, கடிதும் பெரிதும் பலத்ததுமான தமது பட்டயத்தால் தண்டிப்பார்; சமுத்திரத்தில் இருக்கிற வலுசர்ப்பத்தைக் கொன்றுபோடுவார்.

அந்தக் காலத்திலேயே, கர்த்தர் லிவியாதான் என்னும் கோணலான பாம்பை நியாயந்தீர்ப்பார். கர்த்தர் தனது கடினமும் வல்லமையும் கொண்ட பெரிய வாளை, லிவியாதான் என்னும் நீண்ட பாம்பைத் தண்டிக்கப் பயன்படுத்துவார். கடலில் உள்ள பெரிய பிராணியைக் கர்த்தர் கொல்வார்.

அந்நாளில் ஆண்டவர் தம் கொடிய, பெரிய, வலிமைமிகு வாளால் லிவியத்தான் என்னும் விரைந்தோடும் பாம்பை — லிவியத்தான் என்னும் நெளிந்தோடும் பாம்பை — தண்டிப்பார்; கடலில் இருக்கும் அந்தப் பெரும் நாகத்தை அவர் வெட்டி வீழ்த்துவார்.
