இவர்கள்மேல் அவர் தமதுகோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தையும், யுத்தத்தின் வலிமையையும் வரப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைச்சூழ அக்கினிஜுவாலைகளைக் கொளுத்தியிருந்தும் உணராதிருந்தார்கள்; அது அவர்களைத் தகித்தும், அதைமனதிலே வைக்காதேபோனார்கள்.

இவர்கள்மேல் அவர் தமது கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தையும், போரின் வலிமையையும் வரச்செய்து, அவர்களைச்சூழ அக்கினிஜூவாலைகளைக் கொளுத்தியிருந்தும் உணராதிருந்தார்கள்; அது அவர்களை எரித்தும், அதை மனதிலே வைக்காதேபோனார்கள்.

எனவே, கர்த்தர் அவர்கள்மீது கோபங்கொண்டார். கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக வலிமைமிக்கப் போர்களை உண்டாக்கினார். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைச் சுற்றி நெருப்பு சூழ்ந்ததுபோல் இருந்தது. ஆனால் அவர்கள் நிகழ்வதை அறியாமல் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் எரிந்துகொண்டிருப்பதுபோல் இருந்தனர். ஆனால் அவர்கள் நிகழ்ந்ததைப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முயற்சி செய்யவில்லை.

⁽ஆகவே அவர் அவர்கள்மேல்␢ தம் கோபக்கனலைக் கொட்டினார்;␢ கடும் போர் மூண்டது;␢ அவரது சினம் அவர்களைச்␢ சூழ்ந்து பற்றி எரிந்தது;␢ ஆயினும் அவர்கள் உணரவில்லை;␢ அவர்களை நெருப்பு சுட்டெரித்தது;␢ ஆயினும் அவர்கள்␢ சிந்தையில் கொள்ளவில்லை.⁾
