இது எனக்கு நோவாவின் காலத்திலுண்டான வெள்ளம்போலிருக்கும்; நோவாவின் காலத்திலுண்டான வெள்ளம் இனி பூமியின்மேல் புரண்டுவருவதில்லை என்று நான் ஆணையிட்டதுபோல, உன்மேல் நான் கோபங்கொள்வதில்லையென்றும், உன்னை நான் கடிந்துகொள்வதில்லையென்றும் ஆணையிட்டேன்.

தேவன் கூறுகிறார், “நினைவுகொள்! நோவாவின் காலத்தில் நான் உலகத்தை வெள்ளத்தால் தண்டித்தேன். ஆனால், நான் மீண்டும் இந்த உலகத்தை வெள்ளத்தால் அழிக்கமாட்டேன் என்று நோவாவிற்கு வாக்குறுதி அளித்தேன்! இதே வழியில், நான் மீண்டும் கோபங்கொண்டு உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வதில்லை என்று வாக்களிக்கிறேன்.”

⁽எனக்கு இது நோவாவின் நாள்களில்␢ நடந்ததுபோல் உள்ளது;␢ நோவாவின் காலத்துப் பெருவெள்ளம்␢ இனி மண்ணுலகின்மேல்␢ பாய்ந்து வராது என்று␢ நான் ஆணையிட்டேன்;␢ அவ்வாறே உம்மீதும்␢ சீற்றம் அடையமாட்டேன் என்றும்,␢ உன்னைக் கண்டிக்க மாட்டேன் என்றும்␢ ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறியுள்ளேன்.⁾
