பறிகாரரின் கூட்டங்கள் ஒருவனுக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறதுபோல, சீகேமுக்குப்போகிற வழியிலே கொலைசெய்கிற ஆசாரியரின் கூட்டம் காத்திருக்கிறது; தோஷமான காரியங்களையே செய்கிறார்கள்.

தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் கள்ளத்தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறார்கள்; ஆசாரியர்கள் அவர்கள் மூலமாய் ஆளுகிறார்கள்; இப்படியிருப்பது என் ஜனத்துக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கிறது; ஆனாலும் முடிவிலே என்னசெய்வீர்கள்?

அவர்களில், சிறியோர்முதல் பெரியோர்மட்டும், ஒவ்வொருவரும் பொருளாசைக்காரர்; இதுவுமல்லாமல் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள்முதல் ஆசாரியர்கள்மட்டும் ஒவ்வொருவரும் பொய்யர்.

ஆகையால் அவர்களுடைய ஸ்திரீகளை அந்நியருக்கும், அவர்களுடைய வயல்களை அவைகளைக் கட்டிக்கொள்பவர்களுக்கும் கொடுப்பேன்; அவர்களிலே சிறியோர் தொடங்கிப் பெரியோர்மட்டும் ஒவ்வொருவரும் பொருளாசைக்காரராயிருக்கிறார்கள்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் தொடங்கி ஆசாரியர்கள் மட்டும் ஒவ்வொருவரும் பொய்யராயிருந்து,

அதிலுள்ள தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அதின் நடுவில் கட்டுப்பாடு பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; கெர்ச்சிக்கிற சிங்கம் இரை கவ்வுகிறதுபோல, ஆத்துமாக்களை அவர்கள் பட்சிக்கிறார்கள்; திரவியத்தை விலையுயர்ந்த பொருள்களையும் வாங்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; அதின் நடுவில் அநேகரை விதவைகளாக்குகிறார்கள்.

அதின் தலைவர்கள் பரிதானத்துக்கு நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறார்கள்; அதின் ஆசாரியர்கள் கூலிக்கு உபதேசிக்கிறார்கள்; அதின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் பணத்துக்குக் குறிசொல்லுகிறார்கள்; ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை சார்ந்துகொண்டு: கர்த்தர் எங்கள் நடுவில் இல்லையோ? தீங்கு எங்கள்மேல் வராது என்கிறார்கள்.

தேசத்தில் பக்தியுள்ளவன் அற்றுப்போனான்; மனுஷரில் செம்மையானவன் இல்லை; அவர்களெல்லாரும் இரத்தஞ்சிந்தப் பதிவிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவனவன் தன்தன் சகோதரனை வலையிலே பிடிக்க வேட்டையாடுகிறான்.

இடுக்கண் செய்து, ஊத்தையும் அழுக்குமாயிருக்கிற நகரத்துக்கு ஐயோ!

தோட்டக்காரர் குமாரனைக் கண்டபோது: இவன் சுதந்தரவாளி, இவனைக் கொன்று, இவன் சுதந்தரத்தைக் கட்டிக்கொள்ளுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டு;

அப்பொழுது, பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும், காய்பா என்னப்பட்ட பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய அரமனையிலே கூடிவந்து,

நான் அவரை உங்களுக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறேன், நீங்கள் எனக்கு என்ன கொடுக்கிறீர்கள் என்றான். அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசைக் கொடுக்க உடன்பட்டார்கள்.

அந்நாள் முதல் அவரைக் கொலைச் செய்யும்படிக்கு ஆலோசனை பண்ணினார்கள்.

விடியற்காலமானபோது, யூதரில் சிலர் ஒருமித்து, தாங்கள் பவுலைக் கொலைசெய்யுமளவும் புசிப்பதுமில்லை குடிப்பதுமில்லையென்று சபதம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
