அப்பொழுது பாபிலோன் ராஜா ஆமாத் என்னும் தேசத்தின் பட்டணமாகிய ரிப்லாவிலே அவர்களை வெட்டிக்கொன்றுபோட்டான்; இவ்விதமாக யூதர்கள் தங்கள் தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறைகளாய்க் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.

உன் தேசமெங்கும் நீ நம்பியிருக்கும் உயரமும் அரணிப்பும் மதில்கள் விழுமளவும், அவன் உன் வாசல்களிலெங்கும் உன்னை முற்றிக்கைப்போடுவான்; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுத்த உன்னுடைய தேசமெங்குமுள்ள உன்னுடைய வாசல்கள்தோறும் உன்னை முற்றிக்கைப்போடுவான்.

அவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா ஆமாத் தேசத்தின் பட்டணமான ரிப்லாவிலே வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; இப்படியே யூதா ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறையிருப்புக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.

நகரத்தில் தங்கியிருந்த ஜனங்களையும், தன் பட்சத்தில் ஓடிவந்துவிட்டவர்களையும், மீதியான மற்ற ஜனங்களையும், காவற் சேனாதிபதியாகிய நேபுசராதான் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைகளாகக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

நேபுகாத்நேச்சாருடைய இருபத்துமூன்றாம் வருஷத்தில் காவற்சேனாதிபதியாகிய நேபுசராதான் யூதரில் எழுநூற்று நாற்பத்தைந்துபேர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்; ஆக நாலாயிரத்து அறுநூறு பேர்களாம்.

நான் உங்கள் பட்டணங்களை வெறுமையும், உங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலங்களைப் பாழுமாக்கி, உங்கள் சுகந்த வாசனையை முகராதிருப்பேன்.

இன்று நான் உனக்கு விதிக்கிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளின்படியும் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் நடக்கக் கவனமாயிருக்கிறதற்கு, அவர் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடாதேபோவாயாகில், இப்பொழுது சொல்லப்படும் சாபங்களெல்லாம் உன்மேல் வந்து உனக்குப் பலிக்கும்.

கர்த்தர் உன்னைப் பூமியின் ஒரு முனைதுவக்கி பூமியின் மறுமுனைமட்டும் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் சிதற அடிப்பார்; அங்கே நீயும் உன் பிதாக்களும் அறியாத மரமும் கல்லுமான அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவிப்பாய்.

அதை ஏழு பங்காகப் பகிரக்கடவர்கள்; யூதா வம்சத்தார் தெற்கேயிருக்கிற தங்கள் எல்லையிலும், யோசேப்பு வம்சத்தார் வடக்கேயிருக்கிற தங்கள் எல்லையிலும் நிலைத்திருக்கட்டும்.

இதோ, அவர் இடித்தால் கட்டமுடியாது; அவர் மனுஷனை அடைத்தால் விடுவிக்கமுடியாது.

யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும், எருசலேமின் சுற்றுப்புறமான ஊர்களிலும், பென்யமீன் தேசத்திலும், பள்ளத்தாக்கான மலையிலும், மலைநாட்டிலும், தெற்கிலுமிருந்து ஜனங்கள் சர்வாங்தகனங்களையும் பலிகளையும், போஜனபலிகளையும் தூபவர்க்கங்களையும், ஸ்தோத்திரபலிகளையும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவருவார்கள்,

மேலும் கர்த்தர்: இதோ, நான் உன்னையும் உன் எல்லாச் சிநேகிதரையும் பட்டயத்துக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன்; உன் கண்கள் காண இவர்கள் சத்துருக்களின் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்; யூதா அனைத்தையும் நான் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன்; அவன் அவர்களைச் சிறைபிடித்து, சிலரைப் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், சிலரைப் பட்டயத்தால் வெட்டிப்போடுவான்.

மலைத்தேசமான பட்டணங்களிலும், பள்ளத்தாக்குகளான பட்டணங்களிலும், தென்திசைப் பட்டணங்களிலும் பென்யமீன் நாட்டிலும், எருசலேமின் சுற்றுப்புறங்களிலும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும், ஆட்டுமந்தைகள் தங்களைத் தொகையிடுகிறவனுடைய கைக்குள்ளாகக் கடந்துவரும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்

மனுபுத்திரனே, நீ உன் முகத்தைத் தென்திசைக்கு நேரே திருப்பி, தெற்குக்கு விரோதமாக உன் வசனத்தைப்பொழிந்து, தென்புறமான வயல்வெளியின் காட்டுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்து,
