இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது ஜனத்தை மேய்க்கிற மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், நீங்கள் என் ஆடுகளைப் பராமரியாமல், அவைகளைச் சிதறடித்து அவைகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டார்கள்; இதோ, நான் உங்கள்பேரில் உங்கள் செய்கைகளின் பொல்லாப்புக்கேற்ற தண்டனையை உங்கள்மேல் வருவிப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் தமது மக்களை மேய்க்கிற மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், நீங்கள் என் ஆடுகளைப் பராமரிக்காமல், அவைகளைச் சிதறடித்து அவைகளைச் துரத்திவிட்டீர்கள்; இதோ, நான் உங்கள்பேரில் உங்கள் செய்கைகளின் பொல்லாப்புக்கேற்ற தண்டனையை உங்கள்மேல் வருவிப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

எனது ஜனங்களுக்கு அம்மேய்ப்பர்களே பொறுப்பானவர்கள். இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அம்மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு இதனைச் சொல்கிறார்: “மேய்ப்பர்களாகிய நீங்கள் எனது ஆடுகளை எல்லாத் திசைகளிலும் ஓடச்செய்கிறீர்கள். அவை போகுமாறு நீங்கள் பலவந்தப்படுத்துகிறீர்கள். நீங்கள் அவற்றைப்பற்றி அக்கறை எடுத்துக்கொள்வதில்லை. ஆனால், நான் உங்களைப்பற்றி அக்கறை எடுத்துக்கொள்வேன். நீங்கள் செய்த தீமைக்காக நான் உங்களைத் தண்டிப்பேன்.” இந்த வார்த்தை கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வருகிறது.

Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
