பெலிஸ்தரையெல்லாம் பாழாக்கவும், தீருவுக்கும் சீதோனுக்கும் மீதியான சகாயரையெல்லாம் சங்காரம்பண்ணவும் வருகிற நாளிலே இப்படியாகும்; கப்தோர் என்னும் கடற்கரையான தேசத்தாரில் மீதியாகிய பெலிஸ்தரையும் கர்த்தர் பாழாக்குவார்.

அவைகளை எருசலேமுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வரும் ஸ்தானாபதிகள் கையிலே ஏதோமின் ராஜாவுக்கும் மோவாபின் ராஜாவுக்கும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவுக்கும், தீருவின் ராஜாவுக்கும், சீதோனின் ராஜாவுக்கும் அனுப்பி,

ஜாதிகளே, நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, தூரத்திலுள்ள தீவுகளில் அறிவித்து, இஸ்ரவேலைச் சிதறடித்தவர் அதைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் தன் மந்தையைக் காக்கும்வண்ணமாக அதைக் காப்பார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.

தமஸ்குவைக் குறித்துச் சொல்வது; ஆமாத்தும் அர்ப்பாத்தும் கலங்குகிறது; பொல்லாத செய்தியை அவர்கள் கேட்டபடியினால் கரைந்து போகிறார்கள்; சமுத்திரத்தோரமாய்ச் சஞ்சலமுண்டு; அதற்கு அமைதலில்லை.

பதினோராம் வருஷம் முதலாந்தேதியிலே கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:

கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் சொல்லுகிறார்; சீதோனே, இதோ, நான் உனக்கு விரோதமாக வந்து, உன் நடுவிலே மகிமைப்படுவேன்; நான் அதிலே நியாயத்தீர்ப்புகளைச் செய்து, அதிலே பரிசுத்தரென்று விளங்கும்போது, நான் கர்த்தர் என்று அறிந்துகொள்வார்கள்.

மனுபுத்திரனே, பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் தீருவின் முன்னே தன் சேனையினிடத்தில் கடும் ஊழியம் வாங்கினான்; ஒவ்வொரு தலையும் மொட்டையாயிற்று; ஒவ்வொரு தோள்பட்டையின் தோலும் உரிந்துபோயிற்று; ஆனாலும் அவன் தீருவுக்கு விரோதமாகச் செய்த ஊழியத்தினாலே அவனுக்காவது அவன் சேனைக்காவது கூலி கிடைக்கவில்லை.

அங்கே வடதிசை அதிபதிகள் அனைவரும் எல்லாச் சீதோனியரும் கிடக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்கள் கெடியுண்டாக்குகிறவர்களாயிருந்தாலும் தங்கள் பராக்கிரமத்தைக் குறித்து வெட்கப்பட்டு, வெட்டுண்டவர்களிடத்திலிறங்கி, பட்டயத்தால் வெட்டுண்டவர்களோடே விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்களாய்க் கிடந்து, குழியில் இறங்கினவர்களிடத்தில் தங்கள் அவமானத்தைச் சுமந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

தீருவே, சீதோனே, பெலிஸ்தியாவின் சகல எல்லைகளே, உங்களுக்கும் எனக்கும் என்ன? இப்படி எனக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுகிறீர்களோ? இப்படி எனக்குச் சரிக்கட்டுவீர்களாகில், நான் தாமதமின்றி அதிசீக்கிரமாய் நீங்கள் சரிக்கட்டுகிறதை உங்கள் தலையின்மேல் திரும்பும்படி செய்வேன்.

கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: தமஸ்குவினுடைய மூன்று பாதகங்களினிமித்தமும், நாலு பாதகங்களினிமித்தமும், நான் அதின் ஆக்கினையைத் திருப்பமாட்டேன்; அவர்கள் கீலேயாத்தை இருப்புக் கருவிகளினால் அடித்தார்களே.

ஆதிராக் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமானதும், தமஸ்குவின்மேல் வந்து தங்குவதுமான கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையாகிய பாரம்; மனுஷரின் கண்களும் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய சகல கோத்திரங்களின் கண்களும் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்.
