எரேமியா 26:16
அப்பொழுது பிரபுக்களும் சகல ஜனங்களும், ஆசாரியர்களையும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் நோக்கி: இந்த மனுஷன் மரண ஆக்கினைக்குப் பாத்திரனல்ல; நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் நாமத்திலே நம்முடனே பேசினான் என்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது பிரபுக்களும் எல்லா மக்களும் ஆசாரியர்களையும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் நோக்கி: இந்த மனிதன் மரணதண்டனைக்கு பாத்திரனல்ல; நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் பெயரில் நம்முடனே பேசினான் என்றார்கள்.

பிறகு, ஆள்வோர்களும் அனைத்து ஜனங்களும் பேசினார்கள். அந்த ஜனங்கள் ஆசாரியர்களிடமும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளிடமும் பேசினார்கள். “எரேமியா கொல்லப்படக் கூடாது. எரேமியா சொன்னவை எல்லாம் நமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வந்தது.”

பின்னர் தலைவர்களும் மக்கள் எல்லாரும் குருக்களையும் இறைவாக்கினரையும் நோக்கி, “கொலைத் தீர்ப்பு இந்த ஆளுக்கு வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் நம் கடவுளான ஆண்டவரின் பெயராலேயே இவன் நம்மிடம் பேசியுள்ளான்” என்றார்கள்.
