அவர்கள் செய்கைகளுடைய பொல்லாப்பினிமித்தம் நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்ய நினைக்கிற தீங்குக்கு நான் மனஸ்தாபப்படத்தக்கதாக ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் கேட்டு, அவரவர் தம்தம் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்புவார்கள்.

அவர்கள் செய்கைகளுடைய பொல்லாப்பிற்காக நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்ய நினைக்கிற தீங்குக்கு நான் மனவருத்தமடையும் விதத்தில் ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் கேட்டு, அவரவர் தம்தம் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்புவார்கள்.

ஒருவேளை எனது வார்த்தையை அவர்கள் கேட்டு அதற்கு அடிபணியலாம். ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் தமது தீயவாழ்வை நிறுத்தலாம். அவர்கள் மாறினால், பிறகு நான் அவர்களைத் தண்டிப்பதற்காக வைத்திருக்கும் திட்டங்களையும் மாற்றுவேன். அந்த ஜனங்கள் ஏற்கனவே செய்த தீயச்செயல்களுக்காகத்தான் நான் அவர்களைத் தண்டிக்க வேண்டும் எனத் திட்டமிட்டேன்.

ஒருவேளை அவர்கள் உனக்குச் செவிசாய்த்து அவரவர் தம் தீயவழிகளை விட்டுத் திரும்பலாம். அப்பொழுது அவர்களுடைய தீச்செயல்களை முன்னிட்டு அவர்களுக்கு நான் அளிக்க எண்ணியுள்ள தண்டனை பற்றி என் மனத்தை மாற்றிக் கொள்வேன்’.⒫

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
