யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவாகிய சிதேக்கியா அரசாளத் துவக்கின நாலாம்வருஷம் ஐந்தாம் மாதத்திலே, அசூரின் குமாரனாகிய அனனியா என்னப்பட்ட கிபியோன் ஊரானாகிய தீர்க்கதரிசி கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே ஆசாரியர்களும் சகல ஜனங்களும் பார்த்திருக்க என்னை நோக்கி:

யூதாவின் அரசனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவின் ஆட்சியாண்டான நாலாம் வருஷம் ஐந்தாம் மாதம், அனனியா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி என்னிடம் பேசினான். அனனியா அசூர் என்பவனின் மகன். அனனியா கிபியோன் என்னும் நகரத்தினன். அனனியா என்னிடம் பேசும்போது, அவன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் இருந்தான். ஆசாரியர்களும் மற்ற ஜனங்களும் அங்கு இருந்தனர். அனனியா சொன்னது இதுதான்:

அதே ஆண்டில், அதாவது யூதாவின் அரசனான செதேக்கியாவினுடைய ஆட்சியின் நான்காம் ஆண்டு ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தில் அசூரின் மகனும் கிபயோனைச் சார்ந்தவனுமான அனனியா என்னும் இறைவாக்கினன் ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்தில் குருக்கள் மற்றும் மக்கள் அனைவருடைய முன்னிலையிலும் என்னிடம் உரைத்தது;
