அப்பொழுது பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் சேனை எருசலேமை முற்றிக்கைபோட்டிருந்தது; எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியோ, யூதா ராஜாவின் அரமனையிலுள்ள காவற்சாலையின் முற்றத்திலே அடைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தான்.

அப்பொழுது பாபிலோனிய மன்னனுடைய படை எருசலேமை முற்றுகையிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தது. இறைவாக்கினர் எரேமியாவோ யூதா அரசனது அரண்மனையில் இருந்த காவல்கூடத்தில் அடைத்துவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தார்.
