இப்படியிருக்கையில் பட்டயத்தாலும், பஞ்சத்தாலும், கொள்ளை நோயாலும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுப்போம் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிற இந்த நகரத்தைக்குறித்து இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:

இப்படியிருக்கும்போது பட்டயத்தாலும், பஞ்சத்தாலும், கொள்ளைநோயாலும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுப்போகும் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிற இந்த நகரத்தைக்குறித்து இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:

“ஜனங்களாகிய நீங்கள், ‘பாபிலோன் அரசன் எருசலேமைக் கைப்பற்றுவான். அவன் பட்டயங்கள், பசி, பயங்கரமான நோய்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி நகரைத் தோற்கடித்துவிடுவான்’ என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறார்,

இப்பொழுதோ வாள், பஞ்சம், கொள்ளைநோய் காரணமாக இந்நகர் பாபிலோனிய மன்னனிடம் கையளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது என்று நீங்கள் இந்நகரைப் பற்றிக் கூறுகிறீர்கள். ஆனால் இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் அதைக் குறித்துக் கூறுவது இதுவே;
