இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்: நீ போய், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய சிதேக்கியாவினிடத்தில் பேசி, அவனுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது: இதோ, நான் இந்த நகரத்தைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன்; அவன் இதை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிப்பான்.

இதுதான் செய்தி: “இதைத்தான் கர்த்தரும் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களின் தேவனுமானவர் கூறுகிறார்: எரேமியா, யூதாவின் அரசனான சிதேக்கியாவிடம் போ, அவனிடம் இந்தச் செய்தியைக் கொடு, ‘சிதேக்கியா, இதைத்தான் கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார். நான் விரைவில் பாபிலோனின் அரசனுக்கு எருசலேம் நகரத்தைக் கொடுப்பேன். அவன் அதனை எரிப்பான்.
