அப்பொழுது பாருக்கு கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் மேற்பிராகாரத்தில், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்து வாசலின் நடைக்கு அருகான சாப்பானுடைய குமாரனாகிய கெமரியா என்னும் சம்பிரதியின் அறையிலே, அந்தப் புஸ்தகத்திலுள்ள எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகளை ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.

அப்பொழுது பாருக்கு கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் மேல்முற்றத்தில், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்து வாசலின் நடைக்கு அருகிலுள்ள சாப்பானுடைய மகனாகிய கெமரியா என்னும் காரியதரிசியின் அறையில், அந்தப் புத்தகத்திலுள்ள எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகளை மக்கள் எல்லோரும் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.

அப்போது, எரேமியாவின் வார்த்தைகள் உள்ள புத்தகச் சுருளைப் பாருக் வாசித்தான். அவன் புத்தகச் சுருளை கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் வாசித்தான். கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் இருந்த எல்லா ஜனங்களின் முன்பும் பாருக் புத்தகச் சுருளை வாசித்தான். பாருக், புத்தகச் சுருளில் உள்ளவற்றை வாசிக்கும்போது மேற்பிரகாரத்திலுள்ள கெமரியாவின் அறையில் இருந்தான். அந்த அறை ஆலயத்தின் புதிய வாசல் நுழைவில் இருந்தது. கெமரியா சாப்பானின் மகன். கெமரியா ஆலயத்தில் எழுத்தாளனாக இருந்தான்.

அப்பொழுது செயலரான சாப்பானின் மகன் கெமரியாவின் அறையில், அதவாது ஆண்டவர் இல்லத்தின் புதுவாயிலை ஒட்டிய மேல்முற்றத்து அறையில் இருந்தவாறு, மக்கள் எல்லாரும் கேட்கும்படி எரேமியாவின் சொற்களை ஏட்டுச் சுருளினின்று பாரூக்கு படித்துக்காட்டினார்.⒫
