யோசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் ஐந்தாம் வருஷத்து ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்திலே, எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற எல்லா ஜனத்துக்கும், யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்கு வருகிற எல்லா ஜனத்துக்கும், கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உபவாசம் செய்யவேண்டுமென்று கூறப்பட்டது.

யோயாக்கீம் அரசனான ஐந்தாம் ஆண்டின் ஒன்பதாவது மாதத்தில் ஒரு உபவாசம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. எருசலேம் நகரத்தில் வாழ்கின்ற அனைத்து ஜனங்களும் யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து எருசலேமிற்கு வந்த ஒவ்வொருவரும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்னால் உபவாசம் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

யோசியாவின் மகனும் யூதாவின் அரசனுமான யோயாக்கிம் ஆட்சியேற்ற ஐந்தாம் ஆண்டு ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்தில் எருசலேம் மக்கள் எல்லாரும், யூதாவின் நகர்களினின்று எருசலேமுக்கு வந்திருந்த மக்கள் அனைவரும் ஆண்டவர் திருமுன் நோன்பு இருந்தனர்.
