நகரத்தில் தங்கியிருந்த ஜனங்களையும், தன் பட்சத்தில் ஓடிவந்துவிட்டவர்களையும், மீதியான மற்ற ஜனங்களையும், காவற் சேனாதிபதியாகிய நேபுசராதான் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைகளாகக் கொண்டுபோனான்.

நேபுசராதான் பாபிலோனிய அரசனின் சிறப்புக் காவலர்களின் தளபதியாக இருந்தான். எருசலேமில் மீதியிருந்த ஜனங்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய் சிறையிலிட்டான். அவர்களைப் பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுப்போனான். ஏற்கனவே, அவனிடம் சரணடைந்த எருசலேம் ஜனங்களையும் கைதிகளாக பாபிலோனுக்கு கொண்டுப்போனான்.
