என் தாசனாகிய யாக்கோபே, நீ பயப்படாதே என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன்; உன்னைத் துரத்திவிட்ட எல்லா ஜாதிகளையும் நான் நிர்மூலமாக்குவேன்; உன்னையோ நான் நிர்மூலமாக்காமல், உன்னை மட்டாய் தண்டிப்பேன்; ஆனாலும் உன்னை நான் குற்றமில்லாமல் நீங்கலாக விடுவதில்லையென்கிறார்.

கர்த்தர் இவற்றைக் கூறுகிறார், “யாக்கோபே, என் வேலைக்காரனே! பயப்படாதே. நான் உன்னோடு இருக்கிறேன். நான் உன்னைப் பல்வேறு நாடுகளுக்கு அனுப்புவேன். ஆனால் உன்னை நான் முழுவதுமாக அழிக்கமாட்டேன். ஆனால் அந்த நாடுகளை எல்லாம் அழிப்பேன். நீ செய்த தீயச் செயல்களுக்காகத் தண்டிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். எனவே நான் உன்னைத் தண்டனையிலிருந்து தப்பிக்கும்படி விடமாட்டேன். நான் உன்னை ஒழுங்குப்படுத்துவேன் ஆனால் நான் நியாயமாக இருப்பேன்.”
