எனவே, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார்: ‘நான் விரைவில் பாபிலோன் அரசனையும் அவனது நாட்டையும் தண்டிப்பேன். நான் அசீரியா அரசனைத் தண்டித்ததுப்போன்று அவனைத் தண்டிப்பேன்.

ஆகவே இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறார்; இதோ! அசீரிய மன்னனை நான் தண்டித்தது போன்று, பாபிலோனிய மன்னனையும் அவனது நாட்டையும் தண்டிப்பேன்.⒫
