அவைகளோடே காண்டாமிருகங்களும், ரிஷபங்களோடே காளைகளும் வந்து மடியும், அவர்கள் தேசம் இரத்தவெறிகொண்டு அவர்கள் மண் நிணத்தினால் கொழுத்துப்போம்.

அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிற அதின் கூலிப்படைகள் கொழுத்த காளைகள் போலிருக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்களும் நிற்காமல், திரும்பிக்கொண்டு ஏகமாய் ஓடிப்போவார்கள்; அவர்கள் விசாரிக்கப்படுகிற அவர்களுடைய ஆபத்துநாள் அவர்கள் மேல் வந்தது.

அநேகம் காளைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கிறது; பாசான் தேசத்துப் பலத்த எருதுகள் என்னை வளைந்துகொண்டது.

ஆண்டவர் அவனைப்பார்த்து நகைக்கிறார்; அவனுடைய நாள் வருகிறதென்று காண்கிறார்.

திகிலுக்கு விலக ஓடுகிறவன் படு குழியிலே விழுவான்; படுகுழியிலிருந்து ஏறுகிறவனோ கண்ணியிலே பிடிபடுவான்; அவர்கள் விசாரிக்கப்படும் வருஷத்தை அதின்மேல், அதாவது, மோவாபின்மேல் வரப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

இதோ, இடும்புள்ளவனே, நான் உனக்கு விரோதமாக வருகிறேன் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் உன்னை விசாரிக்குங்காலமாகிய உன்னுடைய நாள் வந்தது.

நான் தவிக்கிறதை அவர்கள் கேட்டாலும் என்னைத் தேற்றுவார் ஒருவரும் இல்லை; என் பகைஞர் எல்லாரும் எனக்கு வந்த ஆபத்தைக் கேட்டு, தேவரீர் அதைச் செய்தபடியால் சந்தோஷமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; நீர் கூறின நாளை வரப்பண்ணுவீர், அப்பொழுது அவர்களும் என்னைப்போலாவார்கள்.

அவளுக்கு உண்டான வாதையினால் பயந்து, தூரத்திலே நின்று: ஐயையோ! பாபிலோன், மகாநகரமே! பலமான பட்டணமே! ஒரே நாழிகையில் உனக்கு ஆக்கினை வந்ததே! என்பார்கள்.
