அம்புகளைத் துலக்குங்கள்; கேடகங்களை நன்றாய்ச் செப்பனிடுங்கள்; கர்த்தர் மேதியருடைய ராஜாக்களின் ஆவியை எழுப்பினார்; பாபிலோனை அழிக்கவேண்டுமென்பதே அவருடைய நினைவு; இது கர்த்தர் வாங்கும் பழி, இது தமது ஆலயத்துக்காக அவர் வாங்கும் பழி.

அம்புகளைக் கூர்மைப்படுத்துங்கள்! கேடயங்களை வாங்குங்கள்! கர்த்தர் மேதியருடைய அரசர்களின் ஆவியை எழுப்பினார். ஏனென்றால், அவர் பாபிலோனை அழிக்க விரும்புகிறார். பாபிலோனிய ஜனங்களுக்கு ஏற்ற தண்டனையைக் கர்த்தர் கொடுப்பார். எருசலேமில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைப் பாபிலோன் படை அழித்தது. எனவே கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்குரிய தண்டனையைக் கொடுப்பார்.
