எனக்கும் என் இனத்தாருக்கும் செய்த கொடுமையின் பழி பாபிலோன் மேல் வரக்கடவதென்று சீயோனில் வாசமானவள் சொல்லுகிறாள்; என் இரத்தப்பழி கல்தேயர் தேசத்துக் குடிகளின்மேல் வரக்கடவதென்று எருசலேம் என்பவளும் சொல்லுகிறாள்.

எங்களைத் தாக்க பாபிலோன் பயங்கரமானவற்றைச் செய்தது. அவை இப்பொழுது பாபிலோனுக்கு ஏற்படவேண்டுமென்று நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.” சீயோனில் வாழ்கின்ற ஜனங்கள் அவற்றைச் சொல்வார்கள்: “பாபிலோனிய ஜனங்கள் எங்கள் ஜனங்களைக் கொன்ற குற்றம் உள்ளவர்கள். இப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தாம் செய்த தவறுக்குத் தண்டிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்” எருசலேம் நகரம் அவற்றைச் சொல்லும்.
