இதோ, சீயோனில் கர்த்தர் இல்லையோ? அதில் ராஜா இல்லையோ? என்று, என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தி தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து கூப்பிடும் சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது; ஆனால், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சுரூபங்களினாலும் அந்நியரின் மாயைகளினாலும் எனக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்கினது என்ன என்கிறார்.

இதோ, சீயோனில் கர்த்தர் இல்லையோ? அதில் ராஜா இல்லையோ? என்று, என் மக்களாகிய மகள் தூரதேசத்திலிருந்து கூப்பிடும் சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது; ஆனால், அவர்கள் தங்கள் சுரூபங்களினாலும் அந்நியரின் மாயைகளினாலும் எனக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்கினது என்ன என்கிறார்.

எனது ஜனங்கள் சொல்வதை கேளும்” இந்த நாட்டின் எல்லா இடங்களிலும் ஜனங்கள் உதவிக்காக அழுதுக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள், “சீயோனில் கர்த்தர் இன்னும் இருக்கிறாரா? சீயோனின் அரசர் இன்னும் இருக்கிறாரா?” என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் தேவன் கூறுகிறார், “யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் அவர்களது பயனற்ற அந்நிய விக்கிரகங்களைத் தொழுதுகொண்டனர். அது என்னைக் கோபங்கொள்ளச் செய்தது! அவர்கள் எதற்காக செய்தார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
