நான் கவனித்துக் கேட்டேன், அவர்கள் யதார்த்தம் பேசவில்லை; என்ன செய்தேனென்று சொல்லி, தன் பொல்லாப்பினிமித்தம் மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறவன் ஒருவனுமில்லை; யுத்தத்துக்குள் பாய்கிற குதிரையைப்போல அவரவர் வேகமாய் ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

நான் கவனித்துக் கேட்டேன், அவர்கள் யதார்த்தம் பேசவில்லை; என்ன செய்தேனென்று சொல்லி, தன் பொல்லாப்பினிமித்தம் மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறவன் ஒருவனுமில்லை; போருக்குள் பாய்கிற குதிரையைப்போல அவரவர் வேகமாய் ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

நான் அவர்களை மிகக் கவனமாகக் கேட்டிருக்கிறேன். ஆனால் எது சரியென்று அவர்கள் சொல்கிறதில்லை. ஜனங்கள் தம் பாவங்களுக்காக வருத்தப்படுவதில்லை. அவர்கள் தாங்கள் செய்தது தீயச் செயல்கள் என்று எண்ணுவதில்லை; ஜனங்கள் எண்ணிப் பார்க்காமலேயே செயல்களைச் செய்கிறார்கள். போரில் ஓடும் குதிரைகளைப் போன்று அவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

⁽நான் செவிசாய்த்தேன்; உற்றுக்கேட்டேன்.␢ அவர்கள் சரியானதைச்␢ சொல்லவில்லை.␢ “நான் என்ன செய்துவிட்டேன்?” என்று␢ கூறுகிறார்களேயன்றி␢ எவருமே தம் தீச்செயலுக்காக␢ வருந்தவில்லை.␢ போர்க்களத்தில்␢ பாய்ந்தோடும் குதிரைபோல␢ யாவருமே தம் வழியில்␢ விரைகின்றார்கள்.⁾

I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.
