ஆகையால், இதோ, நான் அவர்களை உருக்கி, அவர்களைப் புடமிடுவேன் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; என் ஜனமாகிய குமாரத்தியை வேறெந்தப்பிரகாரமாக நடத்துவேன்?

எனவே, சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார்: “ஒரு வேலையாள், ஒரு உலோகத்தை அது சுத்தமாயிருக்கிறதா என்று சோதனை செய்வதற்காக நெருப்பிலே சூடுபடுத்துகிறான். அதுபோல நான் யூதா ஜனங்களை சோதனைச் செய்கிறேன். எனக்கு வேறுவழி தெரிந்திருக்கவில்லை. எனது ஜனங்கள் பாவம் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள்.
