இணை வசனம்

அதற்கு ஈடாகத் தங்கத்தைக் கொடுக்கவும், அதற்குக் கிரயமாக வெள்ளியை நிறுக்கவும் கூடாது.

அது ஜீவனுள்ள சகலருடைய கண்களுக்கும் ஒளித்தும், ஆகாயத்துப்பறவைகளுக்கு மறைந்தும் இருக்கிறது.

அவைகள் பொன்னிலும், மிகுந்த பசும்பொன்னிலும் விரும்பப்படத்தக்கதும், தேனிலும் தேன்கூட்டிலிருந்து ஒழுகும் தெளிதேனிலும் மதுரமுள்ளதுமாய் இருக்கிறது.

தேவன் உன்னை என்றென்றைக்கும் இராதபடி அழித்துப்போடுவார்; அவர் உன்னைப் பிடித்து, உன் வாசஸ்தலத்திலிருந்து பிடுங்கி, நீ ஜீவனுள்ள தேசத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு உன்னை நிர்மூலமாக்குவார். (சேலா.)

அநேகமாயிரம் பொன் வெள்ளியைப் பார்க்கிலும், நீர் விளம்பின வேதமே எனக்கு நலம்.

அதின் வர்த்தகம் வெள்ளி வர்த்தகத்திலும், அதின் ஆதாயம் பசும்பொன்னிலும் உத்தமமானது.

முத்துக்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் ஞானமே நல்லது; இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்கவைகளெல்லாம் அதற்கு நிகரல்ல.

ஐசுவரியமும், கனமும், நிலையான பொருளும், நீதியும் என்னிடத்தில் உண்டு.

பொன்னைச் சம்பாதிப்பதிலும் ஞானத்தைச் சம்பாதிப்பது எவ்வளவு உத்தமம்! வெள்ளியைச் சம்பாதிப்பதிலும் புத்தியைச் சம்பாதிப்பது எவ்வளவு மேன்மை!

சத்தியத்தை வாங்கு, அதை விற்காதே; அப்படியே ஞானத்தையும் உபதேசத்தையும் புத்தியையும் வாங்கு.

நான் ஞானத்தை அறியவும், மனுஷன் இரவும் பகலும் கண்ணுறக்கமில்லாமல் பூமியிலே செய்யும் வேலைகளைப் பார்க்கவும் என் மனதைச் செலுத்தினபோது,

கர்த்தரை, கர்த்தரை, நான் இனி உயிரோடிருக்கிறவர்களின் தேசத்திலே தரிசிப்பதில்லை; இனி பூலோகக்குடிகளோடே இருந்து மனுஷரை நான் காண்பதில்லை.

இடுக்கணிலும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பிலுமிருந்து அவர் எடுக்கப்பட்டார்; அவருடைய வம்சத்தை யாரால் சொல்லி முடியும்; ஜீவனுள்ளோருடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து அறுப்புண்டு போனார்; என் ஜனத்தின் மீறுதலினிமித்தம் அவர் வாதிக்கப்பட்டார்.

அன்றியும், பரலோகராஜ்யம் நிலத்தில் புதைத்திருக்கிற பொக்கிஷத்துக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறது; அதை ஒரு மனுஷன் கண்டு, மறைத்து, அதைப் பற்றிய சந்தோஷத்தினாலே போய், தனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, அந்த நிலத்தைக் கொள்ளுகிறான்.
