நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்வது என்னவென்றால், கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறதற்கும், இருதயத்தைத் துயரப்படுத்துகிறதற்கும், திகிலையும் ஈளையையும் காய்ச்சலையும் உங்களுக்கு வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; நீங்கள் விதைக்கும் விதை விருதாவாயிருக்கும்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் அதின் பலனைத் தின்பார்கள்.

நீ விதைத்தும் அறுக்காமற்போவாய்; நீ ஒலிவப்பழங்களையும் திராட்சப்பழங்களையும் ஆலையர்டினபோதிலும், எண்ணெய் பூசிக்கொள்வதுமில்லை இரசம் குடிப்பதுமில்லை.

மிகுந்த விதையை வயலுக்குக் கொண்டுபோவாய், கொஞ்சம் அறுப்பாய்; வெட்டுக்கிளி அதைப் பட்சித்துப்போடும்.

பெண்ணை உனக்கு நியமிப்பாய், வேறொருவன் அவளுடன் சயனிப்பான்; வீட்டைக் கட்டுவாய், அதிலே குடியிருக்கமாட்டாய்; திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை நாட்டுவாய், அதின் பலனை அனுபவிக்கமாட்டாய்.

நீ அழியுமட்டும் அந்த ஜாதியான் உன் மிருகஜீவன்களின் பலனையும், உன் நிலத்தின் கனியையும் புசிப்பான்; அவன் உன்னை அழித்துத் தீருமட்டும் உன் தானியத்திலும், திராட்சரசத்திலும், எண்ணெயிலும், உன் மந்தைகளிலுள்ள ஆடுமாடுகளிலும் உனக்கு ஒன்றும் மீதியாகவைக்கமாட்டான்.

இஸ்ரவேலர் விதை விதைத்திருக்கும் போது, மீதியானியரும் அமலேக்கியரும் கிழக்கத்திப் புத்திரரும் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்பி வந்து;

அவன் பிள்ளைகள் இரட்சிப்புக்குத் தூரமாகி, தப்புவிப்பாரில்லாமல், வாசலிலே நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

இருளுக்கு அவன் தப்புவதில்லை; அக்கினி ஜுவாலை அவனுடைய கிளையைக் காய்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணும்; அவருடைய வாயின் சுவாசத்தால் அற்றுப்போவான்.

அவன் ஜனத்துக்குள்ளே அவனுக்குப் புத்திரனும் இல்லை பெளத்திரனும் இல்லை; அவன் வீட்டில் மீதியாயிருக்கத்தக்கவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை.

தான் பிரயாசப்பட்டுத் தேடினதை அவன் விழுங்காமல் திரும்பக்கொடுப்பான்; அவன் திரும்பக்கொடுக்கிறது அவன் ஆஸ்திக்குச் சரியாயிருக்கும், அவன் களிகூராதிருப்பான்.

துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வயலில் அவர்கள் அவனுக்காக அறுப்பு அறுத்து அவனுடைய திராட்சத் தோட்டத்தின் பழங்களைச் சேர்க்கிறார்கள்.
