மனுபுத்திரனே, இஸ்ரவேலின் மேய்ப்பருக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரை; நீ தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்து அவர்களோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் மேய்ப்பருக்குச் சொல்லுகிறார்; தங்களையே மேய்க்கிற இஸ்ரவேலின் மேய்ப்பருக்கு ஐயோ! மேய்ப்பர் அல்லவா மந்தையை மேய்க்கவேண்டும்.

அதிலுள்ள தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அதின் நடுவில் கட்டுப்பாடு பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; கெர்ச்சிக்கிற சிங்கம் இரை கவ்வுகிறதுபோல, ஆத்துமாக்களை அவர்கள் பட்சிக்கிறார்கள்; திரவியத்தை விலையுயர்ந்த பொருள்களையும் வாங்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்; அதின் நடுவில் அநேகரை விதவைகளாக்குகிறார்கள்.

மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; ஆட்டுத்தொழுவத்துக்குள் வாசல்வழியாய் பிரவேசியாமல், வேறுவழியாய் ஏறுகிறவன் கள்ளனும் கொள்ளைக்காரனுமாயிருக்கிறான்.

அவனுடைய காவற்காரர் எல்லாரும் ஒன்றும் அறியாத குருடர்; அவர்களெல்லாரும் குலைக்கமாட்டாத ஊமையான நாய்கள்; தூக்கமயக்கமாய்ப் புலம்புகிறவர்கள், படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்கள், நித்திரைப் பிரியர்;

என் மேய்ச்சலின் ஆடுகளைக் கெடுத்துச் சிதறடிக்கிற மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு ஐயோ! என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அதற்குள்ளே இருக்கிற அதின் அதிபதிகள் கெர்ச்சிக்கிற சிங்கங்கள்; அதின் நியாயாதிபதிகள் சாயங்காலத்தில் புறப்படுகிறதும் விடியற்காலமட்டும் ஒரு எலும்பையும் மீதியாக வைக்காததுமான ஓநாய்கள்.

என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், கொலையுண்கிற ஆடுகளை மேய்க்கக்கடவாய்.

இதோ, நான் தேசத்திலே ஒரு மேய்ப்பனை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவன் அதமாகிறவைகளைப் பராமரிக்காமலும், சிதறுண்டதைத் தேடாமலும், நொறுங்குண்டதைக் குணமாக்காமலும் இளைத்திருக்கிறதை ஆதரிக்காமலும், அதின் மாம்சத்தைத் தின்று, அவைகளுடைய குளம்புகளை உடைத்துப்போடுவான்.

அந்நியருடைய சத்தத்தை அறியாதபடியினால் அவைகள் அந்நியனுக்குப் பின்செல்லாமல், அவனை விட்டோடிப்போம் என்றார்.

என் ஆடுகள் என் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறது; நான் அவைகளை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன், அவைகள் எனக்குப் பின்செல்லுகிறது.

ஏனென்றால் இந்நாட்களுக்குமுன்னே தெயுதாஸ் என்பவன் எழும்பி, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனாகப் பாராட்டினான்; ஏறக்குறைய நானூறு பேர் அவனைச் சேர்ந்தார்கள்; அவன் மடிந்துபோனான்; அவனை நம்பின அனைவரும் சிதறி, அவமாய்ப்போனார்கள்.
