சீமோன் பேதுரு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீர் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்து என்றான்.

இயேசு செய்த அற்புதத்தை அந்த மனுஷர் கண்டு: மெய்யாகவே இவர் உலகத்தில் வருகிறவரான தீர்க்கதரிசி என்றார்கள்.

இதோ நான் என் தூதனை அனுப்புகிறேன், அவன் எனக்கு முன்பாகப் போய், வழியை ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுவான்; அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் தேடுகிற ஆண்டவரும் நீங்கள் விரும்புகிற உடன்படிக்கையின் தூதனுமானவர் தம்முடைய ஆலயத்துக்குத் தீவிரமாய் வருவார்; இதோ, வருகிறார் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக்காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்கும்படி அனுப்பினான்.

இயேசுவானவரே கிறிஸ்து என்று விசுவாசிக்கிற எவனும் தேவனால் பிறந்திருக்கிறான்; பிறப்பித்தவரிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிற எவனும் அவரால் பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டவனிடத்திலும் அன்புகூருகிறான்.

இன்று கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் உங்களுக்குத் தாவீதின் ஊரிலே பிறந்திருக்கிறார்.

நீங்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்திற்குப் போய்: வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று கேளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினான்.

அதற்கு நாத்தான்வேல்: ரபீ, நீர் தேவனுடைய குமாரன், நீர் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா என்றான்.

அந்த ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: உன் சொல்லினிமித்தம் அல்ல, அவருடைய உபதேசத்தை நாங்களே கேட்டு, அவர் மெய்யாய்க் கிறிஸ்துவாகிய உலகரட்சகர் என்று அறிந்து விசுவாசிக்கிறோம் என்றார்கள்.
