கர்த்தர் உன்னை எல்லாத் தீங்குக்கும் விலக்கிக் காப்பார்; அவர் உன் ஆத்துமாவைக் காப்பாற்றுவார்.

யாபேஸ் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் என்னை ஆசிர்வதித்து, என் எல்லையைப் பெரிதாக்கி, உமது கரம் என்னோடிருந்து, தீங்கு என்னைத் துக்கப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு அதற்கு என்னை விலக்கிக் காத்தருளும் என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவன் வேண்டிக்கொண்டதை தேவன் அருளினார்.

நான் ஒன்றிலும் வெட்கப்பட்டுப்போகாமல், எப்பொழுதும் போல இப்பொழுதும், மிகுந்த தைரியத்தோடே ஜீவனாலாகிலும், சாவினாலாகிலும், கிறிஸ்து என் சரீரத்தினாலே மகிமைப்படுவாரென்று எனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிற வாஞ்சைக்கும் நம்பிக்கைக்கும் தக்கதாய், அப்படி முடியும்.

கர்த்தரோ உண்மையுள்ளவர், அவர் உங்களை ஸ்திரப்படுத்தி, தீமையினின்று விலக்கிக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுவார்.

தேவனால் பிறந்த எவனும் பாவஞ்செய்யானென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; தேவனால் பிறந்தவன் தன்னைக் காக்கிறான், பொல்லாங்கன் அவனைத் தொடான்.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எனக்குச் சகாயராயிரும் என்று சொல்லி;

செய்யும்படி உன் கைக்கு நேரிடுகிறது எதுவோ, அதை உன் பெலத்தோடே செய்; நீ போகிற பாதாளத்திலே செய்கையும் வித்தையும் அறிவும் ஞானமும் இல்லையே.

நீதிமான் மடிந்துபோகிறான், ஒருவரும் அதை மனதில் வைக்கிறதில்லை; புத்திமான்கள் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறார்கள், ஆனாலும் தீங்குவராததற்குமுன்னே நீதிமான் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படுகிறான் என்பதைச் சிந்திப்பார் இல்லை.
