மரித்தோராகிய சிறியோரையும் பெரியோரையும் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கக்கண்டேன்; அப்பொழுது புஸ்தகங்கள் திறக்கப்பட்டன; ஜீவபுஸ்தகம் என்னும் வேறொரு புஸ்தகமும் திறக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அந்தப் புஸ்தகங்களில் எழுதப்பட்டவைகளின்படியே மரித்தோர் தங்கள் தங்கள் கிரியைகளுக்குத்தக்கதாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்படைந்தார்கள்.

இயேசுவானவர் மரித்து பின்பு எழுந்திருந்தாரென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறோமே; அப்படியே இயேசுவுக்குள் நித்திரையடைந்தவர்களையும் தேவன் அவரோடேகூடக் கொண்டுவருவார்.

கர்த்தருடைய கை என்மேல் அமர்ந்து, கர்த்தர் என்னை ஆவிக்குள்ளாக்கி வெளியே கொண்டுபோய் எலும்புகள் நிறைந்த ஒரு பள்ளத்தாக்கின் நடுவில் நிறுத்தி,

அவர்களை நான் பாதாளத்தின் வல்லமைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி மீட்பேன்; அவர்களை மரணத்துக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவிப்பேன்; மரணமே, உன் வாதைகள் எங்கே? பாதாளமே உன் சங்காரம் எங்கே? மனமாறுதல் என் கண்களுக்கு மறைவானதாயிருக்கும்.

நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் பிறக்கவேண்டுமென்று நான் உனக்குச் சொன்னதைக் குறித்து அதிசயப்படவேண்டாம்.

அதற்கு இயேசு: ஸ்திரீயே, நான் சொல்லுகிறதை நம்பு. நீங்கள் இந்த மலையிலும் எருசலேமிலும் மாத்திரமல்ல, எங்கும் பிதாவைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளுங்காலம் வருகிறது.

பிதாவானவர் குமாரனிடத்தில் அன்பாயிருந்து, தாம் செய்கிறவைகளையெல்லாம் அவருக்குக் காண்பிக்கிறார்; நீங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்படத்தக்கதாக இவைகளைப் பார்க்கிலும் பெரிதான கிரியைகளையும் அவருக்குக் காண்பிப்பார்.

அவர் எனக்குத் தந்தவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் நான் இழந்துபோகாமல், கடைசிநாளில் அவைகளை எழுப்புவதே என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவின் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறது.

அதற்கு மார்த்தாள்: உயிர்த்தெழுதல் நடக்கும் கடைசிநாளிலே அவனும் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பான் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றாள்.

பேதுரு அதைக் கண்டு ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலரே, இதைக்குறித்து நீங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்படுகிறதென்ன? நாங்கள் எங்கள் சுயசக்தியினாலாவது, எங்கள் சுயபக்தியினாலாவது, இவனை நடக்கப்பண்ணினோமென்று நீங்கள் எங்களை நோக்கிப் பார்க்கிறதென்ன?

ஆதாமுக்குள் எல்லாரும் மரிக்கிறதுபோல, கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் எல்லாரும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

மரித்தோரின் உயிர்த்தெழுதலும் அப்படியே இருக்கும். அழிவுள்ளதாய் விதைக்கப்படும், அழிவில்லாததாய் எழுந்திருக்கும்;

அவர் எல்லாவற்றையும் தமக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளத்தக்க தம்முடைய வல்லமையான செயலின்படியே, நம்முடைய அற்பமான சரீரத்தைத் தம்முடைய மகிமையான சரீரத்திற்கு ஒப்பாக மறுரூபப்படுத்துவார்.
