மறுபடியும் இயேசு ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: நான் உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாயிருக்கிறேன், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவன் இருளிலே நடவாமல் ஜீவஒளியை அடைந்திருப்பான் என்றார்.

மீண்டும் இயேசு மக்களோடு பேசினார். அவர், “நானே உலகத்துக்கு ஒளி. என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வருகிற எவனும் ஒருபோதும் இருளில் வாழமாட்டான். அவன் வாழ்வைத் தருகிற ஒளியைப் பெறுவான்” என்றார்.
