யோனா எழுந்து, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே நினிவேக்குப் போனான்; நினிவே மூன்றுநாள் பிரயாண விஸ்தாரமான மகா பெரிய நகரமாயிருந்தது.

எனவே யோனா கர்த்தருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தான், அவன் நினிவே நகரத்திற்குப் போனான். நினிவே ஒரு மிகப்பெரிய நகரம். ஒருவன் இந்நகரத்தைக் கடந்துபோக மூன்று நாட்கள் நடக்க வேண்டும்.
