கர்த்தர் எமோரியரை இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்பாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிற அந்நாளிலே, யோசுவா கர்த்தரை நோக்கிப் பேசி, பின்பு இஸ்ரவேலின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக: சூரியனே, நீ கிபியோன்மேலும், சந்திரனே, நீ ஆயலோன் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலும், தரித்துநில்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

கர்த்தர் அன்று இஸ்ரவேலர் எமோரியரை வெற்றிக்கொள்ளச் செய்தார். அந்த நாளில் யோசுவா இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களுக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: “சூரியன், கிபியோனின் மேல் நிற்கட்டும். ஆயலோன் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் மேல், சந்திரன் அசையாது நிற்கட்டும்” என்றான்.

கடவுள் எமேரியரை இஸ்ரயேலர் கையில் ஒப்படைத்த அன்று யோசுவா ஆண்டவரிடம் பேசினார். அவர் இஸ்ரயேலர் கண்முன், ⁽“கதிரவனே! கிபயோனில் நில்!␢ நிலவே! அய்யலோன்␢ பள்ளத்தாக்கில் நில்” என்றார்.⁾⒫
