அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷர் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; தேசத்தைக்குறித்து விவரம் எழுதப்போகிறவர்களை யோசுவா நோக்கி: நீங்கள் போய், தேசத்திலே சுற்றித்திரிந்து, அதின் விவரத்தை எழுதி, என்னிடத்தில் திரும்பிவாருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது இங்கே சீலோவிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உங்களுக்காகச் சீட்டுப்போடுவேன் என்று சொன்னான்.

அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதர்கள் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; தேசத்தைக் குறித்து விபரம் எழுதப்போகிறவர்களை யோசுவா நோக்கி: நீங்கள் போய், தேசத்திலே சுற்றித்திரிந்து, அதின் விபரத்தை எழுதி, என்னிடம் திரும்பிவாருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது இங்கே சீலோவிலே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் உங்களுக்காகச் சீட்டுப்போடுவேன் என்று சொன்னான்.

தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட ஆட்கள் தேசத்தைப் பார்க்கவும், பின்னர் அதைப் படமாக வரைந்து யோசுவாவிடம் கொண்டுவரவும் திட்டமிட்டனர். யோசுவா அவர்களை நோக்கி, “போய் தேசத்தை ஆராய்ந்து, அதன் படங்களை வரையுங்கள். பிறகு சீலோவில் என்னிடம் வாருங்கள். பின் சீட்டுப் போட்டு, கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கான பாகத்தைத் தேர்ந் தெடுக்கும்படியாகச் செய்வேன்” என்றான்.

அவ்வாறே அம்மனிதர் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றனர். நிலத்தை வரையுமாறு செல்பவர்களுக்கு யோசுவா கட்டளையிட்டுக் கூறியது: “சென்று, நிலத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்து வரைந்து கொண்டு வாருங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்கு ஆண்டவர் முன்னிலையில் சீலோவில் திருவுளச்சீட்டுப் போடுவேன்”.
