ஆகையால், உயர வானத்திலும் தாழ பூமியிலும் கர்த்தரே தேவன், அவரைத் தவிர ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்பதை நீ இந்நாளில் அறிந்து, உன் மனதிலே சிந்தித்து,

யோசுவா 5:1

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கடந்து தீருமளவும், கர்த்தர் யோர்தானின் தண்ணீரை அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக வற்றிப்போகப்பண்ணினதை, யோர்தானுக்கு மேல்கரையில் குடியிருந்த எமோரியரின் சகல ராஜாக்களும் கேட்டதுமுதற்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் இருதயம் கரைந்து, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்பாகச் சோர்ந்துபோனார்கள்.

ஆயியின் மனுஷர் அவர்களில் ஏறக்குறைய முப்பத்தாறுபேரை வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்; பட்டணவாசலின் வெளி துவக்கிச் செபாரீம்மட்டும் அவர்களைத் துரத்தி, மலையிறக்கத்திலே அவர்களை வெட்டினார்கள்; ஜனங்களின் இருதயம் கரைந்து தண்ணீராய்ப்போயிற்று.
