அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியனாகிய எலாயாசாரின் குமாரனாகிய பினெகாஸ் ரூபன் புத்திரரையும் காத் புத்திரரையும் மனாசே புத்திரரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாய் அப்படிக்கொத்த துரோகத்தைச் செய்யாதிருக்கிறதினாலே, கர்த்தர் நம்முடைய நடுவிலே இருக்கிறார் என்பதை இன்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; இப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக் கர்த்தரின் கைக்குத் தப்புவித்தீர்கள் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியனான எலெயாசாரின் மகனாகிய பினெகாஸ், ரூபனுடைய கோத்திரத்தார்களையும், காத்தின் கோத்திரத்தார்களையும், மனாசே கோத்திரத்தார்களையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராக அப்படிப்பட்ட துரோகத்தைச் செய்யாதிருக்கிறதினாலே, கர்த்தர் நம்முடைய நடுவில் இருக்கிறார் என்பதை இன்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; இப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களைக் கர்த்தருடைய கைக்குத் தப்புவித்தீர்கள் என்றான்.

எனவே ஆசாரியனாகிய பினெகாஸ், “கர்த்தர் நம்மோடிருக்கிறார் என்பதை அறிகிறோம். அவருக்கு எதிராக நீங்கள் திரும்பவில்லை என்பதையும் நாங்கள் அறிகிறோம். கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைக் தண்டிக்கமாட்டார், என்பதால் நாங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம்” என்றார்கள்.

எலயாசரின் மகனும் குருவுமான பினகாசு, ரூபன் மக்களிடமும், காத்து மக்களிடமும், மனாசே மக்களிடமும், “ஆண்டவர் நம் நடுவில் உள்ளார் என்று இன்று நாங்கள் அறிந்து கொண்டோம். ஆண்டவருக்கு எதிராக நீங்கள் இந்தத் துரோகத்தைச் செய்யாதிருந்ததால், ஆண்டவரின் கையிலிருந்து இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களை நீங்கள் காப்பாற்றினீர்கள்.” என்று கூறினர்.⒫
