இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்திலேயிருந்து கொண்டுவந்த யோசேப்பின் எலும்புகளை, அவர்கள் சீகேமிலே யாக்கோபு சீகேமின் தகப்பனாகிய எமோரியருடைய புத்திரரின் கையில் நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசுக்குக் கொண்ட நிலத்தின் பங்கிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அந்த நிலம் யோசேப்பின் புத்திரருக்குச் சுதந்தரமாயிற்று.

இஸ்ரவேலர் எகிப்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டபோது, அவர்கள் யோசேப்பின் எலும்புகளை எடுத்து வந்தனர். சீகேமில் யோசேப்பின் எலும்புகளைப் புதைத்தனர். சீகேம் என்ற மனிதனின் தந்தையாகிய எமோரியரின் மகன்களிடமிருந்து யாக்கோபு வாங்கிய நிலத்தில் அந்த எலும்புகளைப் புதைத்தனர். யாக்கோபு அந்த நிலத்தை 100 சுத்த வெள்ளி பணத்திற்கு வாங்கியிருந்தான். அந்நிலம் யோசேப்பின் பிள்ளைகளுக்குச் சொந்தமானதாக இருந்தது.

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவந்த யோசேப்பின் எலும்புகளைச் செக்கேமில் ஒரு நிலப்பகுதியில் புதைத்தனர். இப்பகுதி யாக்கோபு செக்கேமின் தந்தையாகிய ஆமோரின் மக்களிடமிருந்து நூறு வெள்ளிக் காசுக்கு வாங்கியது. யோசேப்பின் மக்களுக்கு இது உரிமையாயிற்று.
