கொள்ளையிலே நேர்த்தியான ஒரு பாபிலோனிய சால்வையையும், இருநூறு வெள்ளிச்சேக்கலையும், ஐம்பது சேக்கல் நிறையான ஒரு பொன்பாளத்தையும் நான் கண்டு, அவைகளை இச்சித்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்; இதோ, அவைகள் என் கூடாரத்தின் மத்தியில் பூமிக்குள் புதைத்திருக்கிறது, வெள்ளி அதின் அடியிலிருக்கிறது என்றான்.

கொள்ளையிலே நேர்த்தியான ஒரு பாபிலோனிய சால்வையையும், இருநூறு வெள்ளிச்சேக்கலையும், ஐம்பது சேக்கல் நிறையுள்ள ஒரு தங்கக் கட்டியையும் நான் கண்டு, அவைகளை ஆசைப்பட்டு எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன்; இதோ, அவைகள் என் கூடாரத்தின் நடுவில் நிலத்திற்குள் புதைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, வெள்ளி அதற்கு அடியில் இருக்கிறது என்றான்.

நாம் எரிகோவையும் அந்நகரத்தின் பொருட்களையும் கைப்பற்றிக்கொண்டபோது பாபிலோனிலிருந்து கொண்டுவந்த அழகிய மேலாடையையும், சுமார் ஐந்து பவுண்டு வெள்ளியையும், ஒரு பவுண்டு பொன்னையும் கண்டேன். அவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன். அப்பொருள்கள் எனது கூடாரத்திற்கடியிலுள்ள நிலத்தில் புதைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதை நீங்கள் காணலாம். மேலாடையின் கீழே வெள்ளி இருக்கிறது” என்றான்.

அழிவுக்குரியவற்றுள்ஓர் அழகான பாபிலோனிய மேலாடையையும், ஒரு கிலோ முந்நூறு கிராம் வெள்ளியையும், ஐந்நூற்று எழுபத்தைந்து கிராம் தங்கக் கட்டியையும் கண்டேன். அவற்றின்மீது ஆசை வைத்து அவற்றை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன். எனது கூடாரத்திற்குள் வெள்ளி அடிப்பகுதியில் இருக்க அவற்றைத் தரையில் புதைத்து வைத்துள்ளேன்” என்றான்.⒫
