அங்கே யோசுவா: நீ எங்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணினது என்ன? இன்று கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணுவார் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரும் அவன்மேல் கல்லெறிந்து, அவைகளை அக்கினியில் சுட்டெரித்து, கற்களினால் மூடி;

அப்போது யோசுவா, “எங்களுக்கு நேர்ந்த தொந்தரவுகளுக்கு நீ காரணமாக இருந்தாய்! இப்போது கர்த்தர் உனக்குத் தொல்லையளிப்பார்!” என்றான். அப்போது ஜனங்கள் ஆகானின் மீதும் அவன் குடும்பத்தினர் மீதும் அவர்கள் மரிக்கும்படி கற்களை வீசினார்கள். பிறகு ஜனங்கள் அவர்களின் உடல்களையும் அவர்களின் பொருட்களையும் எரித்தனர்.

யோசுவா, “ஏன் நீ எங்களுக்குத் தொல்லை வருவித்தாய்? இன்றே ஆண்டவரும் உனக்குத் தொல்லை வருவிப்பார்” என்றார். இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் அவனைக் கல்லால் எறிந்து கொன்றனர். அப்பொருள்களைத் தீக்கிரையாக்கி அவனைச் சார்ந்தவர்களைக் கல்லால் எறிந்து கொன்றனர்.
