பட்டணத்திலிருந்தவர்களும் அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டதினால், சிலர் இப்புறத்திலும் சிலர் அப்புறத்திலுமிருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் நடுவே அகப்பட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள்; ஆகையால் அவர்களில் ஒருவனும் தப்பி மீந்திராதபடிக்கு அவர்களை வெட்டிப்போட்டு,

அப்போது ஒளிந்திருந்த மனிதர்களும் நகரத்திலிருந்து வந்து போரில் உதவினார்கள். ஆயீ நகர ஜனங்களை இஸ்ரவேலர் இருபுறமும் சூழ்ந்து வளைந்துகொண்டனர். இஸ்ரவேலர் அவர்களைத் தோற்கடித்தனர். ஆயீ நகர மனிதர்கள் தப்பி, உயிரோடிராதபடி இஸ்ரவேலர் அவர்களோடு போரிட்டு அழித்தனர்.
