சபையின் பிரபுக்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்பேரில் ஆணையிட்டிருந்தபடியினால், இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அவர்களைச் சங்காரம்பண்ணவில்லை; ஆனாலும் சபையார் எல்லாரும் பிரபுக்கள்மேல் முறுமுறுத்தார்கள்.

சபையின் பிரபுக்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தில் ஆணையிட்டிருந்தபடியால், இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அவர்களைத் தாக்கவில்லை; ஆனாலும் சபையார்கள் எல்லோரும் பிரபுக்களுக்கு எதிராக முறுமுறுத்தார்கள்.

ஆனால் இஸ்ரவேல் படையினர் அந்நகரங்களை எதிர்த்துப் போர் செய்யவில்லை. அந்த ஜனங்களோடு அவர்கள் ஒரு சமாதான ஒப்பந்தத்தைச் செய்து கொண்டனர். ஏனெனில் இஸ்ரவேலரின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு, முன்பு அவர்கள் ஒரு வாக்குறுதியைச் செய்திருந்தனர். ஒப்பந்தம் செய்த தலைவர்களை எதிர்த்து ஜனங்கள் குற்றம் சாட்டினார்கள்.

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அவர்களைக் கொல்லவில்லை. ஏனெனில், சபையின் தலைவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் பெயரால் ஆணையிட்டு வாக்களித்திருந்தார்கள். சபை முழுவதும் தலைவர்களுக்கு எதிராக முணுமுணுத்தது.
