பின்பு யெப்தா அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி: நீ என் தேசத்தில் எனக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ண வருகிறதற்கு, எனக்கும் உனக்கும் என்ன வழக்கு இருக்கிறது என்று கேட்கச்சொன்னான்.

அம்மோனிய ஜனங்களின் அரசனிடம் யெப்தா செய்தியாளர்களை அனுப்பினான். “அம்மோனிய ஜனங்களுக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலருக்குமிடையே இருக்கும் பிரச்சினை என்ன? எங்கள் தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் போர் தொடுத்துவரக் காரணமென்ன?” என்பதே அவன் அனுப்பிய செய்தியாகும்.
