நான் அம்மோன் புத்திரரிடத்திலிருந்து சமாதானத்தோடே திரும்பி வரும்போது, என் வீட்டு வாசற்படியிலிருந்து எனக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு வருவது எதுவோ அது கர்த்தருக்கு உரியதாகும். அதைச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியாகச் செலுத்துவேன் என்றான்.

நான் அம்மோன் மக்களிடத்திலிருந்து சமாதானத்தோடு திரும்பி வரும்போது, என் வீட்டு வாசற்படியிலிருந்து எனக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு வருவது எதுவோ அது கர்த்தருக்கு உரியதாகும், அதைச் சர்வாங்கதகனபலியாகச் செலுத்துவேன் என்றான்.

வெற்றிபெற்று நான் திரும்பும்போது, எனது வீட்டிலிருந்து வெளிவருகிற முதற் பொருளை உமக்குத் தகன பலியாகக் கொடுப்பேன்” என்று வாக்குறுதி செய்தான்.

அவர்களிடமிருந்து நான் வெற்றியோடு திரும்பும் பொழுது யார் என்னைச் சந்திக்க என் வீட்டு வாயிலிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வருகின்றாரோ, அவர் ஆண்டவருக்கு உரியவர். அவரைக் கொண்டு வந்து எரி பலியாக்குவேன்.”

Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD’s, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
